Go to sleep, heart by Irina Florin

In September I was commissioned to create an animated music video for Zapsi, syrce (eng. Go to sleep, heart) by Irina Florin.
I have always approached music and visuals as a whole, inseparable experience, a short story of some sorts, and this time was not an exception.
I let the song lead the way and used a lot of Bulgarian folk motifs in the animation. The characters came first, followed by the night setting and the trippy, dream-like transitions. I wanted to use the concepts of metamorphosis and the cyclical nature and chose to do this with a frame-by-frame animation.
