Shulka
Art Direction, Design, Illustration
Shulka is an independent brand, with products made from 100% hand-selected cotton, created with endless love and attention to every detail.
The name ‘Shulka’ comes from the Bulgarian word ‘shushulka’ which means ‘pea pod’ - the cocoon that wraps around little peas and beans, just like the towel wraps around you.
The creators of Shulka approached me with the cute name and gave me the total freedom to visualise their brand personality - natural, calm, caring and full of light. And then, we made history together.
First, it was the hand-drawn logo and the patterns - a reflection of their playful approach to life.
Then came the art direction, centred around the idea of contemporary comfort, without sacrificing style.
In addition to that, I drew a set of illustrations, complementing the logo and helping them stand out among the conscious-fashion crowd.
