ALL PRESSURE/NO PLEASURE
Direction, Design, Video
APNP is a single by the alternative rock band Hayes & Y, created during lockdown and inspired by the current events.
I was approached by the band with the task to create the artwork, video and social visuals for it.
Right when I first heard the demo, I knew I had to channel the madness of isolation and paint in dark tones, even exaggerate it in terms of self control. I tried to capture the deep animalistic scream for normality we can all hear in these strange times.
The band had a clear vision of the video right from the start, which made things a lot easier.
We all knew that our persistent theme should be the crazy race of the everyday and the new normal. And the rest was hypnotic strobes, shadows, four walls and a few sleepless nights.

Call the police was the next single the band released right after APNP.
The overall mood for this one was different, more intimate but the overarching theme was still present. To keep the storyline between the two singles whole, I used another shot from the same session for the artwork.
